Robbery- University Place
The University of Pittsburgh Police is assisting Pittsburgh Police with
a reported robbery that occurred at 10:05 p.m. on November 22, 2009. The
victim stated that while walking north on University Place from Fifth Avenue
toward O'Hara Street, a male approached her from behind. The male suspect
then pushed her into the bushes and demanded money. Victim gave suspect
cash, and suspect kicked her several times, and then ran south toward Fifth
Avenue.
The suspect is described as follows:
African American male, 5'7" in height, 175 lbs., close cut hair, wearing
dress shoes, dress slacks, and a button down shirt, all clothing black in
color.
Anyone having information regarding this incident should call the University

- Always be aware of surroundings and persons approaching
- Attempt to get a facial description of suspicious persons
- Hold personal belongings close to the body; when faced with a robbery,
relinquish belongings.

Reported Burglaries- Bouquet Gardens
Beginning November 1, 2009 to recently the University of Pittsburgh Police
has received reports of three burglaries occurring at Bouquet Gardens Building
A. According to information received, all burglaries have occurred in first
floor suites, method of entry may be from unsecured windows. Two burglaries
occurred during the night, while a third burglary is believed to have occurred
during the daytime hours. Items taken include laptop computers, X Box gaming
equipment and videos, and televisions. The University of Pittsburgh Police
is actively investigating these incidents.
Residents of Bouquet Gardens and all other apartment occupants are encouraged
to take proper security measures to safeguard property such as maintaining
locked doors and windows when inside, and when away from the residence.
Residents are also advised to promptly contact police when they encounter
suspicious circumstances or persons.
