A Message from Chief Delaney
I am proud to serve as your police chief. As a second
generation police officer at the University of
Pittsburgh starting my affiliation with Pitt in
1972, I have seen the school grow and develop
not only as a student and employee but also as
a parent. Therefore I have a well rounded view of our school.

As a parent of a Pitt graduate I have observed the University through my son's eyes, thus giving me
a good perspective of what is important to the students.
Many of my decisions as chief are based on what's
important to you and your child. Consequently, as
a parent I also know what your concerns are. I too
have experienced the feeling of your child leaving
home. Let me assure you that the students are "priority
one" with me and my department.
To all the students at Pitt I want your college experience
to be positive and safe one. Your "second
home" here at Pitt will be enjoyable. Our
department actively meets with student groups
throughout the school year so we can communicate
and you can take full advantage of this great institution.
If you have any concerns or questions feel free to
contact me 412.624.4216 or e-mail me at tdelaney
at pitt.edu. Hail to Pitt
